About the Space
Before booking, please take a moment to read — we believe in being open and honest so you can be confident this stay is right for you.
This is a traditional, detached countryside cottage with an established country garden. It retains many original features and charming quirks you would expect from an older rural property. Walls are uneven in places, and as with any countryside home, you may occasionally encounter spiders, cobwebs, natural smells, or rural sounds. This is all part of the character of the cottage and its setting — it does not mean the property is unclean or unhygienic.
We do not claim this to be a modern, 5-star hotel-style property. Instead, it is a cosy, welcoming, and characterful retreat, ideal for guests who appreciate authenticity, tranquillity, and nature.
There are no shops within walking distance, so a car is essential.
If you are seeking a newly modernised home with pristine uniformity and a manicured, character-free garden, this may not be the right choice. However, if you value charm, privacy, and a true countryside escape, this cottage is a wonderful place to stay.
The Living Spaces
The property offers generous and comfortable shared living areas, ideal for families and groups. The main living room is spacious and inviting, featuring comfortable leather seating, a character stone fireplace, and a bright, airy feel. This is a relaxing space to unwind, socialise, or enjoy a quiet evening in.
The large dining kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering stays and designed for shared meals and gatherings. It includes full-size appliances, ample worktop space, and a large dining table with seating for all guests. The layout makes it practical for families, group cooking, or longer stays.
A dedicated wellness area provides a standout feature of the property, with a private cold tub and sauna housed in a timber-clad space. This area offers a relaxing, spa-style experience and is available for guest use throughout the year.
The Bedrooms
The property offers multiple well-proportioned bedrooms, providing flexible sleeping arrangements suitable for couples, families, and groups. Each bedroom is furnished with solid wooden beds, comfortable mattresses, bedside tables, and quality bedding to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
Rooms are tastefully presented in a clean, calming style and offer ample storage space for clothing and personal items. The layout allows guests to spread out comfortably, making the property equally suitable for short breaks or extended stays.
